Got scammed … any way to get the money back ?

Hi everyone,

My father booked rooms at a reputed dharamshala after finding a contact number online. The person he spoke to seemed trustworthy and asked for payment upfront via UPI. Everything seemed fishy to me from the start, and I warned my dad, but he trusted the guy. Since it was the weekend, he decided to make the payment to be on the safer side.

Once we arrived, we discovered that the person we communicated with wasn’t associated with the dharamshala, and many others had been scammed too.

We’re now looking to file a complaint and wondering if there’s any way to recover the money paid via UPI. Any advice on how to proceed?
