UEdit: She was not a scammer. I sent her money through wise – a banking service and she thought this was my business account and I previously sent her money(since the money was from wise, it shows payment from wise). She thought I am the wife of a man who took service from her since both the payments were from wise.There was a lot of confusion.
Now it’s cleared, she returned my money. Here is the post she made about the misunderstanding:https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoXIndia/s/wQIBC15Ww1Yesterday, there was a girl who posted that she was being harassed by the police and her landlord after a failed suicide attempt, trying to pay a 35k fine. I went through her post history and really felt sorry for her. I could relate to her story of running away from home and later ending up with no job and no money. Heck, she even said she had a dog, which I thought might be starving as well.
Anyway, I sent her 15k for her rent and food. I know I shouldn’t have trusted a random stranger on Reddit, but I don’t know—this was the first time I ever felt bad enough to help, and even though I am unemployed myself, I thought of helping her. I even offered to help her with referral at my husband’s company. I wasn’t even expecting the money back, but she blocked me after getting it.
Just wanted to rant here, I guess. Anyway, her story was kind of suss now that I think about it, police blackmailing for 35k after she survived a suici** attempt? And landlord just happened to open her room with a spare key, the day she tried to off herself?
Anybody else planning to help her out—just beware. -

BLot of scammers are active on reddit.
Modulus operandi involves posting fake sob story.
You will regularly see fake sob stories in various city bases subreddit, some of them have even fake milap or ketto fund raising.
Don’t believe all sob stories on internet.
Now call 1930 and report cyber fraud

UI know you are a brave and kind soul for offering that much amount that many people would never dare to give to even their closest family and friends, don’t let this one bad incident stop you from helping people in future, just be a bit careful and verify things before doing so and need more angels like you in this world

UWhat is the authentication that this is not a scam post? In today’s world scam is literally everywhere. Yeah! the yesterday’s post was kinda more suspicious than this. Because of these kind of scammers real people in need are left out. I watched a video recently accusing ketto and other donation websites of allowing people with fake medical documents to raise money. So. Y’all need to think 100 times before believing something on Internet.

She said few weeks back she ‘entertained’ few people on reddit. She received money for such ‘entertainment’. Thought OP was wife of husband she ‘entertained’.
Is this what she does as a profession, then when earnings dry up she goes and tries to off herself?! Either way, this…something doesn’t seem right. Best not to think too much about this.
