UI don’t know where else to ask this so any and all help would be really appreciated.
I moved in with my boyfriend in December and the lock-in period for our apartment ends in May. He broke up with me a few days ago and now he’s left the burden of finding a roommate on me. The thing is, he said he’ll pay the rent till March and then by then I have to find a partner. However, I told him to help me out till May, I can clear out the flat and I’ll pay him back the rent for those two months entirely.
He refused to do that and I know it’s next to impossible to find someone who is willing to stay only two months. For reference, I’m giving the flat to anyone to live in if they want to, I’ll be home so I will not be staying but I will still pay my half of the rent until the lock-in period is over, after which I will vacate.
I cannot afford 30k rent all by myself as I make a bit more than that per month. Can anyone please tell me what to do? It’s my name on the contract, not his.

UNAL.
Speak with house owner and tell him that due to financial constraints you would like to vacate the house by march end.
Else tell him that you can pay delayed rent as the alternative option. I am sure that he will accept for march end.

UThere is also a clause in the agreement where you can give notice to vacant 30-45 days in advance.

UNAL Talk with the house owner stating that a medical emergency has happened in ur hometown and u have to leave or u have been asked in ur company to leave you are ready to pay till march end
Most people will agree and other thing depends on the landlord-
UI’m afraid of taking that risk because if it doesn’t work out in my favour i will have to give up my deposit

UIt’s my fault because I couldn’t balance properly between work and life. I wasn’t able to cook for him on time, I was absent from his life when he needed me, and he didn’t not like the fact that I go back home once a month, for only a weekend at max.
He was upset I put my work before him, couldn’t come with him when he needed me to because of work commitments. And on top of that he also threw cheating allegations at me when he had my location, access to all my devices and was with me 24/7.
I completely understand if this sounds unbelievable, but this is the truth.

ULol had an ex move out because I was getting frustrated with managing both the household and work. Dumbass basically played video games all day and did a surprise pikachu face every time I got upset that I had to tell him what chores were pending.
Trust me, you are way better off even if you don’t see it yet. Hopefully you resolve this roommate thing soon and have space to heal from the breakup. Tits up!

UAiyo the frustration is palpable. Also how I wish your jerk ex’s name had also been on the lease. Absolutely ridiculous that the wuss can jump ship like that.
Anyway get this dealt with best as you can. This will just be a hard lesson to look back on someday. Good luck and patience!
