Got soap inside the phone box. Bought from Cashify. Delivered by Xpressbees. Cashify Customer care told to file an FIR. The police denied that the case is suitable for an FIR. Talked to the customer care again. They said FIR is must. Did complain at consumer helpline. Should I wait for the consumer court complaint reach them or go to police station again(i dont want to as they were quite reluctant to file an FIR).

Also should I post on X and Linkedin(to tag the founders directly) ?

It’s simply sad that police are not registering an FIR for you.

You would have to register an FIR, some police stations require you to make a Notarized Affidavit of the incident and then submit that to them for the FIR.

Even in the consumer court, the first thing they would enquire about is whether you filed an FIR.

Try pushing the head constable for the FIR, you might have to sponsor his afternoon lunch and evening snacks to get it done (I know it’s not ideal, but it’s our need). [Don’t sponsor his dinner and next day breakfast too, if you understand]

                All the best πŸ‘

                        Hello.
Your matter is squarely a case of cheating and criminal breach of trust.
Having said that, a consumer court can resolve your issue but the thing is that its a civil remedy. And i dont think you want to wait 5 years to get a refund for your phone. Also the area where you live matters a lot when consumer cases are concerned. Metros generally have a quicker procedure
Focus on having an FIR registered. Send a legal notice to cashify. Assert very clearly that you’re going to implicate their top management.
Please do not hesitate to send a personal message you need any other assistance in the matter. I am an advocate and I assure you all the help within my capacity.
