Gst return!!! Lawyer betrayed my Father!!!

So my dad hired a lawyer who would file all the gst returns and every other thing now that guy has not filed the annual return for last 2 years. A issue was noticed to my father and now he’s panicking!! What should I do now!!!

First thing you should do is complaint against the lawyer in bar association. And to give a proper advice, I will be needing more details like what kind of notice, estimated turnover etc.

Well his family used to work for us and therefore he was hired by my father as he thought he’s trustworthy and he himself stated that he had experience. He has been working for last 5-6 years with us and everything was going well all these years untill we got the notice.

It’s like a tax consultant with law background, knows little stuff regarding tax in comparison to CA and my father had such lawyer/adviser 20 years back. Later on the son of lawyer completed his CA and we handed over all tax stuff to his son. Better to consult a good CA asap for proper reply of notice and write off the matter quickly.

File GSTR 9 and GSTR 9C at the earliest. There is a waiver for late fees if GSTR 9C is filed before 31st March for the previous years. No waiver for late fees is available for GSTR 9 though.
