GSTIN field visit tomorrow. Need some advice.

Hi, I applied for a GSTIN number for my new business and today I received a call from the Tax office that they will do a field visit tomorrow. I have been advised since day 1 that everytime these officers come to field for “verification”, they ask for bribe. I honestly don’t feel like paying bribe especially when I’m not doing anything wrong. Is there any legal precaution I can take here.

Also, I don’t need the GSTIN number at the moment (as it’s a very new business and the turnover is even below 50000) but I prefer working out all these documents and stuff from beforehand so I applied for it.

Please attach your GSTIN number and Registration Certificate outside your office or premises (if you are doing so from there). I encountered this issue and had to pay a bribe of ₹5000 because the documents were not attached outside.
