April 10, 2025 at 8:04 amI need legal advice and help. I hope I will find it here.A digital fraud has occurred twice from the so-called fake escort agency online via Telegram and WhatsApp. Here are the details:
I saw an Instagram ad for an e-model, so I clicked on that link. After the link redirected me to WhatsApp, he asked for 500 for pictures. I paid, and he sent the pictures; I chose some, and he provided the model number and location. The next day, I reached the location and called him on WhatsApp. He asked for the payment first, so I paid him, but then he told me I needed to pay a security amount for both of us. I paid him again, and additionally, I paid for the registration. I felt defrauded and asked him for a refund, but he blamed me for canceling and wasting time. After that, he said he would refund my money within 24 hours. The next day, he called me to complete the last 19500 payment to claim the refund. I denied and asked for my full money back.
Now, he is threatening me to pay 19500 or he will do something that will cost me 19 lac. He said he will keep calling me until I pay. He claimed to know all the police stations and offices, and said he has all the proof against me, which would cost me more.
I know it was a very stupid thing I did, but I trust this subreddit and hope people can help and guide me. I am looking for a serious reply.
Note: calls have happened on WhatsApp only.

April 10, 2025 at 8:36 amNAL – You can simply report him for fraud with cyber police, there is nothing he can do, its just scare tactics. Now the question – will you be getting your money back? I highly doubt, consider this is a lesson learnt without burning lacs.
