May 6, 2026 at 2:16 pmMe and my partner hosted a few shows every friday the last 3 weeks and we earned a small amount from those shows which we used as payment for the venues.Last week we had to cancel the event due to some reason and district triggered refunds for past and completed events as well. There was no indication and we were completely blindsided.
We mailed their customer support and they say that this is how their process is. That we are supposed to disable shows instead of cancelling event.
Can someone tell me what can be done?

May 6, 2026 at 2:28 pmLawyer here.
Did you have a written contract with them? What was the financial arrangement like? Your operation model would determine the course of action available, otherwise you will have to go through the civil courts system. Provide more details, I’m happy to help.-

May 6, 2026 at 2:47 pmI did sign a contract with them but like most people with TnCs, I didn’t read them either and I know that that is my fault. The financial arrangement is that a customer purchases a ticket that which we set a price upon, district takes some commision and the rest of it is ours.
Last week we didn’t have enough sign ups so we had to cancel the event. No where was it mentioned that cancelling the event would trigger a refund for all past completed events as well.
Now after we emailed the customer support they were like this is how the process flow is and that we were supposed to disable the show instead of cancel the show.

May 6, 2026 at 3:02 pmYou will have to go through the bulky TnCs to ascertain the nature and extent of rights and obligations of each party. Is there a dispute resolution clause in that document? You may start by sending them a legal notice.-

May 7, 2026 at 2:23 amI understand your predicament.
Gather all available details and documents, and get a lawyer to send them a legal notice. Chances are, they will settle the matter and you’ll get your payment.

May 6, 2026 at 4:49 pmthis sounds really unfair from your side especially because the earlier shows were already completed and the money had already been used assuming those events were closed properly the part that usually matters here is what exactly their terms say about cancellation versus disabling because platforms sometimes hide important differences there that only become visible after something goes wrong also the lack of warning before reversing earlier payouts makes this feel bigger than just one cancelled event have they pointed you to any specific policy or clause explaining why past completed events were refunded too or are they only giving generic support replies so far-
