March 14, 2025 at 8:13 amMy brother got arrested by Cyber police today and didn’t know why actually. After we went to the cyber police station they said he was involved in selling/spreading nudes and intimate videos. And someone registered a case against him. So they now will be taking him to court this afternoon. I don’t actually know what to do but can someone please provide any information about what type of punishment he might get and is it bailable or not. -

March 14, 2025 at 8:38 am“Spreading nudes and intimate videos”Please specify in detail on what the accusation is – if it was a minor that he was involved with, he will get a POCSO case on him and his life is fucked.

March 14, 2025 at 8:54 amSince your brother was arrested for allegedly sharing nudes or intimate videos, the charges are probably under the IT Act (66E, 67, 67A) and the new BNS 2023 (107, 109, 118, 316, 317). Some of these are bailable (66E, 109, 118), but others aren’t (67, 67A, 107, 316, 317), meaning he might need to apply for bail in court. The cops have to take him to a magistrate within 24 hours, who’ll decide if he gets bail or stays in custody. First things first, get a copy of the FIR ASAP, let your lawyer handle everything, and push for bail immediately. Cyber police will probably check his phone and other devices, if this is his first offense and it wasn’t deliberate, the court might just give him a warning or a fine instead of jail.-
