Help regarding change in spelling of name

I wanted to know the correct procedure to change spelling of my name. I want to remove one letter from my name to make it sound correct.
I heard that we need one affidavit regarding reason for change of name and one declaration in English and local newspaper. It it correct and what are the legal fees required in all the process??
Moreover can I change name in aadhaar card, pan card , ration card, 12 th marksheet and 10th marksheet??
Due to this I haven’t started the process for a passport yet.
I am currently in 3rd yr college and I am 22M.
Moreover, plz tell ur story (if any) regarding change of name.

Yes you need to make a declaration. And then publish the same on government gazette. Now the procedure to publish in government gazette is online. Search for it.
