March 3, 2025 at 2:00 pmI know this might not be the right place to say but I’ve recently joined this ngo, and I need to raise funds for them, it’s not even that humongous, 1500 by 31 March. However it’s just very hard to convince people to donate to a cause. The ngo does all sorts of work. This amount is although for people who cannot afford treatment. Suggest me ways to achieve the goal. I’ve asked my closed circle to contribute but even they’re not that eager some of them are willing tho. If you wish to check the authenticity feel free to check my earlier posts. I humbly request you to donate whatever possible. -

March 3, 2025 at 2:03 pmPeople scam in the name of NGOs therefore everyone is wary to donate impulsively you need other approaches like holding seminars at churches mandirs etc where the crowd is in the mood of donating money so they can feel guilty free lol-

March 3, 2025 at 2:06 pmYour point makes sense, however I’m doing this as an intern for them, so doing any sort of big thing is hard for me.

March 3, 2025 at 3:50 pmAnd that’s the second part. Those who actually need help do not have any documents but those who are scammers are always ready with all the necessary documents. Sometimes it is perfect.-

March 3, 2025 at 2:20 pmOof imo this is the worst way to raise funds for an ngo, coming from someone who regularly donates to ngos.Shaming people will not get you cash. Calling them out for their lack of sympathy will not make you reach your deadline.
The reason why people are wary to donate on reddit links is because
A. Most of these posts come with a lack of proper proof. Why would we donate when we don’t have proper information about where our money is going?
B. There has been an influx of fake donation posts which has induced a boy who cried wolf kind of situation.
I would suggest you provide ample documents incase you choose social media to get funds. Otherwise, in person drives are your next best option.

March 3, 2025 at 2:28 pmIf I’m being very honest, i think your need to reach the budget is not altruism, but more of a succeeding in the internship role- if you weren’t in this internship and another friend approached you to pay, would you willingly donate?-

March 3, 2025 at 2:31 pmI completely understand your point, the deadline is a worrisome thing, I have no problem in doing work and contributing if I had you know ample amount of time. I’ve been feeding strays and helping in various donation drives. Recently donated blood as well.-
