How can i get information who is sending emails from unknown id using my religion and also character assassinating me? what legal action i can take?

I am in absolute distress due to some person wrongly involving me in my college politics and sending email using some fake unknown email ids.. That person has sent email where he has targetted my religion and also indirectly character assisinating wrongly associating my name having relationship with some other professor ..I absolutely have nothing to do with it.. Can i get information who is sending those emails and also what legal action i can take?

File a complaint with cyber cell of the Police.

no, if he is sending from fake addresses, he would be savvy enough to be routing through anonymous proxies. Try a bit of detective work and find out who you pissed off enough in your college to warrant this!
