UI ordered an iftaar kit on the first day of Ramadan on Ola foods platform, and the order was placed at 5:41pm since they were showing 30-35min delivery.
Iftaar time was at 6:30pm so there was even a 15 minute breathing period in case of any minor delays.
However they made the delivery at 7:01pm. It took one hour and twenty minutes.
The amount was prepaid hence I had no choice but to go and collect it. The food which arrived was barely edible as it had gone cold.
I spent over 900 rupees on that family platter kit, and that was a total waste of money.
The whole point of iftaar kit is to have it during iftaar time and not 5 minutes later, or whenever so pleases. There’s a religious prominence to it.
The people who sell these kits should atleast know that basic fact. This is a clear case of lack of cultural sensitivity, and an insult to an entire community.
That night itself I registered a complaint on consumer forum, and Ola reverted back with an apology on that complaint, and decided to close it without even bothering to take my consent.
This is totally not fair. I had uploaded all the evidences of the screenshots as well on the portal yet I am surprised there was no intervention from consumer forum’s side whatsoever. Feeling totally helpless in this country, and lost all hope.
