UTwo years ago, my father invested everything into a retail company, helping set up 10 stores and mentoring my cousin—who is two years older than me—on how to run the business. Since I was a student abroad, I had no direct involvement, leaving my cousin in full control.
Initially, he reassured my father that a ₹1.6 crore deposit from the brand partner was pending. Over time, this number mysteriously shrank—first to ₹80 lakh, then to ₹60 lakh. After months of avoiding calls and giving vague responses, he now claims there was never any deposit at all. Instead, we received a legal notice from the brand’s lawyer demanding ₹1.2 crore from our company.
While my father built steady rental income in his town to secure the company’s future, my cousin exploited it under the pretense of financial distress, draining even fixed profits and exhausting security deposits. Meanwhile, he was diverting store rental income into his personal account, all while falsely claiming the business was struggling.
To make matters worse, he secretly transferred the company’s registered office lease to his personal business—along with interiors, furniture, and air-conditioning—without compensating the company. We only discovered this when we visited the office for a financial review. When confronted, he provided fake documents, then fled to another city when pressed further.All the company MOU and net banking passwords or check power was held by him solely never signed a check only signed the lease agreements for rental income as these properties were in my town.
Now, tenants are demanding refunds, landlords have withheld deposits due to unpaid dues, and our company is being dragged into legal disputes—all while my cousin continues to cover his tracks. I need legal advice on how to expose his fraud and protect our interests before it’s too late. How should I proceed?

SA lot of what you’re saying cant happen without your father knowledge.
I mean if he didn’t even bother to check his bank account statement and blindly signed documents for address change of his company – at some point it goes beyond naivety and reaches levels of self-harm.
Your father and you fucked up here big time.
This will be a life long mess of litigation and threats of violence and violence and fake allegations and FIRs and court cases.

IIt’s not your father & you, it’s your father fucked up. Old people, especially Indian men have a massive ego problem & massive low brain problem. If someone comes & butters them, they literally become their slaves. And see God & everything in them. And then the vultures exploit. Then it becomes the problem of everyone else but them.

YHey man, My father is one gullible person who is soley focused on operations and expansions and doesnt go into wicket keeping accounts etc. He is also very orthodox when it comes to families and has blind trust

SNo sane businessman will ever ignore his balance sheets. Blind trust is okay; but not seeing balance sheets and other accounts?? Impossible for a business owner

Eif there are fake document you might need to get a graphologist, some documents where there are suspiciousness. i guess you might be able to file 420 as well based on those report. this is only for info purpose only. all those thing you need still need to prove it. collect all the written proofs as much as possible. i dont know why he is ruining a well settled life ? or i guess you or your father have done something that you dont told here.
