March 19, 2025 at 4:56 amHi all, since the actress caught with Kgs of Gold is in news. I wonder, how can someone bring precious metal in large quantities, legally into India? Can you just pay customs and bring it?
If yes, then how much custom duty is there on all precious metal? -

March 19, 2025 at 5:26 amThe legal limit is very less around 10-20 gm only. It is also different for men and women. Also if you wearing some jewellery while leaving india. It is advisable to declare it at customs during departure. Otherwise you may get caught when you bring back your pre-owned jewellery. It will be treated as jewellery bought from outside and you may be asked to pay duty. -

March 19, 2025 at 7:35 amYou will need to declare the precious metals you are bringing from foreign country and pay the custom duty on it. You will only get caught if you are trying to smuggle the gold without paying custom duty.
