February 21, 2025 at 8:12 pmSo this is a village that’s well connected to cities. My brother won the election for sarpanch (I guess due to the deceased father, sort of compassionate vote? + father and grandfather were quite popular) and this guy whom he had been connected with desire to get funding but at last he didn’t We got support from our family members. however, the only time he funded was during a blood donation camp for growing popularity (which wasn’t very successful as very few people came and it was just a little tent). So even though he didn’t spend any money on the campaign he is saying he is the sarpanch for he made him and shit and now we fear he could attack him or subjugate him for influence since he is known Gunda and has been to jail a few times. Since the dude is in his 40s and my brother is like 23 ig he thought he could control him.
for context, my grandfather used to be a sarpanch for 3 terms during the 1980s wherein one time someone came into the house at night and killed one child, this was like 40-50 years ago but my mother is pretty scared of the consequences.
should we fear him, what can be done in such a situation what would be the most rational way to go with this.
he hasn’t threatened him till now but is spreading rumours about funding.
