An office junior, S, 25M talks shit about just everyone. Many a times we have tried to complain to the office head but he instead defends him.
Today, I got to know that 25M is a pervert and also morphs images of colleagues and forwards it to his personal whatsapp groups. When I got to know about the inappropriate pictures, (off course I haven’t verified it) a lot of other things started to make sense. Like lately I have been getting a lot of unwanted attention from people around and it did seem fishy.
This guy even yesterday has done the same making a meme out of a pic of my colleague and me. Not nsfw but wrote vile things.
So I asked another colleague D who also wanted to report him. But we cannot coz we don’t have any evidence.
The colleague A who told upon the pervert doesn’t want to get involved. (He doesn’t care about the females in our office just hates the other men so out of spite he got the message conveyed to me)
I am a senior in my department so they don’t approach me directly. In fact, behave with utmost regard in front of me but I do have a junior AT and their intentions aren’t good for her either.
Honestly rn, I want to beat S to death.

Coz the office head won’t listen anything against him. I have kept the following options open, coz I know I will find evidence:
        CM portal/ womens helpline/ NCW
        Also a formal FIR

But am I taking this way too seriously?

How do I protect my junior? What legal action can I take against him? Why are all the other men defending him in this? I know they must be complicit, but not one man feels like they should take a stand? Are they being blackmailed or something? Noone ever says anything to him coz he apparently has a lot of connections. But I have a feeling there’s a lot more to it coz otherwise he being a very junior employee wouldn’t have so much grip on the Head of Office.

        How should I proceed?

You should take a stand here . Otherwise this guy won’t stop at any limits. Eventually he will molest women .

File a complaint. Asap. Gather proofs. If not , when you do file a complaint. Argue that you saw weird whatsapp groups and also that his behaviour around you makes you uncomfortable. They will trust you. If they don’t , do mention you will get the police involved

You’re right. What’s crazy is the kind of support he gets from other men in the dept. That’s why i don’t want to rush this, but carefully go about it so he can’t manipulate shit later.

Simply contact the woman’s helpline or cyber crime in your area.

                      Explain to them your ordeal.

They trust most women. Normally one call or meeting at police station ends most matter.

                                No they will not trust..

                                They will hopefully investigate.

If they find evidence or witnesses who confirm your story, they will prosecute..

Yes, and also send an official email. This will act as proof that you made a complaint.
And your HR should know more about the procedure.

                                1. Take the HR into loop.
                                2. Blame both the Junior and the Senior who keeps saving him.
                                3. Invoke posh.
                                4. If they are influential, they will shut it down as internal matter.
                                5. Ask HR for all the documents related to complaint.
                                6. Get a lawyer.
                                7. File an FIR, preferably in women cell of police station. Add up an application to cyber cell.
                                8. Blame HR, Junior, senior and the panel who judged the matter, in the FIR.

                                NAL.

I don’t know which ones would hold water in your case so it is better if you consult a lawyer before going on this crusade. Because it will absolutely end your chances at your present company.

To seek justice, heroes have to pay in blood and tears.

                                Good luck.

If you’re in a firm which is governed by policy frameworks, then this would be easy. Evidence gathering wouldn’t be your job, you and your other colleague just need to report this and the concerned team will take care.

But if there no clear policies or HR, think before you take any steps. The guy may just be given a warning but the boss will become toxic to you. No one likes a scandal in their team. I am not discouraging you, but just making aware of what you can get into.

Your instincts to protect yourself and your junior are valid. It’s heartbreaking that people enable this kind of behavior through silence or fear. Document everything you can, quietly gather evidence, and if internal routes fail, taking it to external legal bodies like the CM portal or NCW is the right move. You deserve a safe workplace, and no one, no matter how “connected” should be above accountability.

I would like to give you a radical solution.
Ask a female employee to slap him in full public view and then file a complaint with HR and if they do not take any action, file a police complaint.
