They made me pay additional โ‚น3k+ for my laptop bag. LAPTOP BAG! I had 25kg check in on student & 7 kg cabin, both of which were perfect and 1 laptop bag.

Any idea on how to lodge a complaint/redressal regarding this?

They said I should know cabin bag in spicejet is inclusive of laptop bag! Later after security check, I verified the info on the official website where it said additional laptop bag was allowed as a personal item. They totally scammed me!

I asked to pls excuse me for a bit of weight as I was a student, but the counter persom wouldn’t budge and behaved quite hotly in a very rough and gruff tone.

Never before have I experienced this while on air india or indigo. I am so lost. Please help me out.

Have you got receipt for 3K when you paid for laptop bag,

          Send email to customer service
Attach screenshot from their website and receipt and ask for refund

Actually in Dec 2024, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) introduced a new regulation. All passengers will be restricted to a single cabin luggage. In case of excess, there will be charges. If your ticket was booked before May 2024, you’ll be exempt from the new regulation.

I had a similar situation and question. I called up lufthansa customer care but they said that my existing booking luggage policy still applies which is 1 hand luggage and 1 personal item. So if the airlines have that written, it should have been allowed ideally.

I understand, but I was not informed of this in the baggage TnC. It’s still written additional laptop bag can be carried.

As mentioned earlier, if your ticket was booked on or before 2 May 2024, you are exempt from the new regulation.

There has been a recent change in rules – Literally you are allowed one piece of cabin baggage. The interpretation of what that one piece means lies with the airline. This impacts people with a laptop bag and women – with their handbag / clutches the most. Because in all cases – it was assumed that you are allowed a personal item and a cabin bag.

Only one cabin bag rule is strictly followed now by Indian carriers.. No extra laptop bag is allowed. I thought everyone knew this by now .
