I got 10k through upi from someone but it dont show upon my bank account balance

So today someone called me and told me that they sent 10k money through upi accidently but when i checked my account there in no such money and i checked my transaction through upi app it says 10k credited to account but it doesn’t show on my account balance

Most probably a scam, inquire your bank about it and check the number from which you’ve received the message.

same thing happened with my friend account, the amount doesn’t show up but when you will transfer 10,000 to some another account. It will be a successful transaction, try sending it to another account. Many banks facing this issue these days

try sending it to another account of yours first.

Do not send money to any account that they request you to.

Also dont sent them any money back.

Ask them to file a dispute in their own bank. They can chargeback and get the amount reversed from their side.

Till you see it in your bank account its not there. The person sending it to you has either sent it to another person by mistake or is simply fooling you.

This is a very common scam. You’ll receive an amount credit message which is very similar to the message you receive from the bank when money is credited into your account. The scammer will ask you to refund it, but please don’t do anything without checking your account balance. That message is sent by the scammer, not the bank.

Not sure what’s the legal advice you need. If I were you, I’d check the account statement from netbanking or get the passbook printed first to see what happened.

I’d suggest not to spend the money at all if you ever received it. Even though somebody else sent it to you, it’s still someone else’s money and banks have ways of taking it back upon formal complaint.

It’s not showing up because Bank might have kept the amount on hold. Probably bank has received the information or chargeback already so they kept the amt on hold.

You are getting scammed also if you see the transaction in your app, possibly your phone is compromised and some malware is installed.
