I lost all my items to local movers and packers, no contact with owner – completely helpless

Hi Reddit,

I contacted a local movers and packers with name of Maruti Express Movers and Packers. The service initially was really good, they came to pick items, packed everything and I was shifting all the items from Bangalore to Sharjah. I left for Sharjah and told them to keep the items for storage and made 50% payment and rest payment to be made post the delivery.

I trusted them which is my fault. I told them to deliver my items but they gave excuses ignored my calls, and would randomly tell me that my items can’t be delivered as prices have increased and it will take more to get delivery. By now they extorted 1.2 lacs. All things were personal items ( my gifts from family). Anyways fast forward, he told all items are in Bhilwandi Warehouse in MUMBAI. I requested to pick all my items from Mumbai, but right before i pinged them – this person DISAPPEARED. The only contact I ever had was his whatsapp number. This number went switched off – and no message was getting delivered, its 3 months since I lost contact with him.

I filed my complaint to consumer forum. His website is shut down but I am not sure where my items are…I am completely devastated at this whole thing. I have lost everything I owned – it was my 5 year worth of life in 13 boxes…. It would be great to get some help…. please do your thing reddit.

I will be very grateful to get some help.
