April 25, 2025 at 8:38 amI am kind of in situation. I got into an online relationship with a married woman while her divorce proceedings were going on. It was mostly chats and a few calls. Her divorce papers were signed recently. I have paid for her lawyer fees and all most of the times when she asked. This case should have been closed. Now she informed me today that her supposed ex husband found out some call record of mine very recent one which was to ask money obviously. Now he is trying to drag me out into it. I know I screwed up. She is telling me that a certain amount is to be paid and my name won’t come out and this case will be closed now. I don’t trust her anymore.
I don’t want to get dragged or even get called to court for this. I don’t want to anything to do with this anymore. What shall i do and what can i do?
This wasn’t even a relationship i have never met her only video calls i have seen her.
Please guide me. -

April 25, 2025 at 8:47 amShe is almost getting rid of both of you. You don’t need to pay any money. Also, why would you even get into a relationship with a married woman whose separation is yet not cleared?Legal or not, run away.

April 25, 2025 at 8:50 amThe Supreme Court allows the husband to sue you for damages to his married life, but it is very rare that a person reasonably does so and is able to prove it.It is much more likely that you have been scammed. The money you have given as “help” is gone and now the woman wants a big amount.

April 25, 2025 at 11:47 amlol nobody pays to get alimony, it’s a scam. Forget how much you spent on her and move on. If at all you are supposed to be summoned it will only happen thru court by post and not on phone calls. She’s probably milking you probably to pay the Advocate. Even if they found evidence that you guys are in contact worst could happen is her losing the case that’s all. -

April 25, 2025 at 2:23 pmA lawyer here. Sorry, but you have landed up with a wrong person. You should not have been the one to pay for her legal fees. Nevertheless, even if her husband has found out about you, he cannot harm you in any legal way. There is no punishment for what you mentioned. At most, he can get notices served upon you to testify whether you had a relationship with his wife. If you say yes, the consequence is for wife – she gets divorced, loses some maintenance, and also reputation. But no criminal action lies against you.Now comes my personal advice: run, run, run!
