I want to leave my company, but with Pay accrued

Hi All,

I’ve been working at this firm and I just don’t understand the firm policies, especially on Variable payout.

My variable pay is 20% of the CTC, and my notice period is 3 months. Today, the company announced the variable payout for CY24 and this will be paid in the salary of April 25 (accrued till Dec 24).

Now my dilemma is that if I leave the company, I will potentially serve 3 months of Notice, and they will mostly not pay the variable accrued for Last year, even if they promised a payout in writing.

What can I do here?

TLDR:
20% of my CTC is Variable and they pay it out after 3 months from announcement with a 3 months notice period. Will potentially loose minimum of 6 months Variable pay whenever I resign. What can I do?

Would be greatful for a solution, or should I just think of this as a sunk cost and forget about it.
