If we have 60 lacs in savings can we afford a senior lawyer for my father’s case? For How many years is it viable?

My father has been falsely implicated by his colleagues and seniors in a Corruption case related to a project my father hasn’t even worked upon and cbi registered a case against him with Charges of ipc 409

. So as some of you have known me as I’ve posted numerous times many people recommended to hire a senior lawyer.

So if we have savings for 60 lacs(lifetime savings of my parents as they are both working) is it enough for how many years for a senior lawyer?

Bro, you’re really overthinking. You should relax, get a mid-level lawyer and he will take care of it. It really depends on the evidences, no point in exhausting everything it’s a long battle.

Just relax and go slow. You need to be bit practical.

Bro, no one can tell you anything specifically. I think you will have to move a bail plea, initially courts will disapprove it. However, they will accept it at some point in time. (Probably after 90s, once CBI files a chargesheet). You have to contest the claims and narrate the story. CBI will produce their evidences and witnesses.

I think you should try to meet your father and try to get the truth, did he signed it. If he didn’t where was he, any alibi? You don’t have exhaust yourself mentally, be prepared for a longer battle.

Senior lawyers of HC or SC can’t get you bail or quash case immediately.

One of the defense could be, your father signed the documents in good faith, but you will have to prove it. That there was no bribery involved. Civil servants have sufficient safeguards. 100cr is big number and your father must be at good position. Check his union for support.

Actually a junior lawyer on reddit told me that senior lawyers charge 1.5 to 2 lac per appearance at least so I was thinking if we have 60 lacs as savings so for how many years can we afford them? As you know people said that a senior lawyer can save us? So practical is 60 lacs for how many years?

You need to know about it. As the lawyer who is going to fight your case is going to be from your area/jurisdiction.
