UYesterday, between 2 and 3 AM, part of our house collapsed due to weakened wooden and iron support pillars. Thankfully, no one was harmed, but three bikes parked outside were damaged—one crushed, one dented, and one unharmed. A steel almirah was also destroyed.
We’ve owned this house for about 26–28 years after purchasing it from the previous owner. Over time, minor cracks appeared, but they worsened significantly in 2019 when we were away in Kolkata for my sister’s wedding. During that time, my father’s friends informed him that lights were on in a storage room (approx. 300 sq. ft.) with an entrance only from the outside. This was suspicious because we had cut off the power before leaving. A friend confirmed there was activity inside, and we later discovered that the adjacent mosque/dargah had illegally broken into the room, installed an iron door, and started using it as their own.
This wasn’t their first attempt at illegal possession. In the 2010s, they forged my father’s signature (in Gujarati instead of English) to claim ownership, which failed. This time, they bribed the previous owner’s son and created fake documents, mainly focusing on the storage room. When we returned, we filed an FIR immediately, but the case has been dragging for nearly six years due to COVID delays and legal postponements. My father has all the proper documentation, but the mosque authorities have strong local influence. Unfortunately, friends who could testify in our favor are too afraid to get involved.
The unauthorized drilling of an entrance weakened the structure, ultimately leading to the collapse. We informed our lawyers, who advised us to file a panchnama, which we did on Saturday. Officials are expected to inspect the site on Monday.
At this point, we’re exhausted and stuck, unable to sell or move due to the ongoing illegal possession. How can we fast-track the legal process? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

SWell your house is being broken. Literally. I hope you get out of reddit. Go knocking on door of collector, MP, MLa, with a letter of facts with address, phone, basic story written. Get help. Pray for your well being but you must act.
MP, MLA can be of any party, ask for their help. If they say what can they do, say please help my house is literally breaking. Please help me save it

UIn these matters if the surrounding community isn’t supporting you, you have a very tough time ahead. I would sadly say there is no hope. In these situations all available options are bad.
The easiest solution is negotiation. That is fastest and will keep welcome in your community.
If not then Scan all documents you have and keep them on drive. All documents means the property papers, the house tax, map etc etc. this is needed to spread the word. Keep notarised closed in a safe place.I would suggest, and it’s a bad idea but might help you at least ,is to approach the media with all the documents. There are many media people who are biased enough to make it sound like all madarsas are bad and this is how they expand etc. etc. they will try to raise this as a political issue.
With the media attention, you can approach the local mla for resolution and it will come faster.
You will be banished from your community and be looked down upon so it’s a bad idea in general. Your parents will not like the idea.

UDid it occur to you, Chindu, that the vast majority of these endowments are a legacy of the Islamic empires of the past, which, as much as your Chindu radical brethren attempt to desecrate and deface by rewriting history, bequeathed upon the waqf? These vast endowments (provided you are even aware of such a word, which is highly unlikely and bleak) stem from donations made by individuals, rulers, and wealthy patrons who dedicated assets—such as land, buildings, businesses, and other revenue-generating properties—for the amelioration of the community.
Had Chindus had the scantest of propriety, they would’ve constituted a similar instrument. Alas, they are beastly creatures to whom self-aggrandisement and flaunting their casteist malarkey are more paramount, hence the hoarding of wealth and the perpetual poverty and deprivation endemic to India.

UWhat narcotic substance have you huffed, Chindu? The vast majority of illegal structures squatting on government property and estates comprise temples whose nefarious endeavours are elaborately and deviously planned. In Delhi, countless temples sprout up in numbers owing to this phenomenon. Some Chindu monks indulged in a similar endeavour in my suburb by placing idols by the curb. Fortunately, we discovered their malfeasance and promptly tossed the idols away.
If self-flagellating tendencies and victimisation were a sport, Hindus would triumph inexorably given their penchant for projecting their own inadequacies and insecurities upon others.

SThat’s really sad, there is no such thing as fast track in legal process in India and until this issue becomes viral nothing can be done as Islam is involved.

BHey. Have you tried to file a suit of declaration and eviction? Also, idk what it’s called in Gujarat but the English term is something called an extract from the town survey land register. That will very clearly mark the boundaries of your property which is proof of your ownership. It’ll be a long and hard battle but don’t give up. Your case will be of huge help not only to you but to many other people in similar situations.

FTaking ppssession usually happens in cases were the party have paper on their right of land.
I am assuming here the mosque has ownership but not actual possession of the land and they had used this opportunity to get the possession.
If your papers are clear assuming the previous owners sold you the house with proper documents you have nothing to worry otherwise you are screwed big time -
