Context- Even before my birth, my parents have been fighting constantly. It was so messy that they decided to file divorce.

-The real problem is, my father is also a lawyer. And he has a nasty habit of dragging innocents to his cases ( which my mother doesn’t approve of ).

-What i think is, after the divorce is over, He’s gonna drag me into the mess too knowing my mother would do anything to get me off the case.

-How? He’s gonna file a case stating- ” I was forced to sign the divorce paper as my son pleaded in front of me ”

( even now he’s not admitting that he wanna divorce mutually. The only thing he says is – if you all want me to sign it then alright I’ll do what you guys want )

-He could do more but i dont know what that might be.. To be honest i really don’t want to go to court every other day for something i never did.

-He need not win the case. All he needs is to make me helpless and interfere in my life so my mom’s gonna compromise.

-WHAT I WANT TO KNOW- Tell me oh esteemed lawyers out there, what can i do now in advance such that later I can prove my innocence. ( I really really don’t want to get dragged into this. I’ve been in this environment for as long as i was born and I don’t want anymore)

Ps: If any of you think that no father can do this to their child. Trust me, i know there are good dads out there but unfortunately I don’t.

Make it clear to your father that you want peace. If there is any legal escalation, you will side with your mother in hearings so itโ€™s better to put an end to things.

The thing is, even if i make it clear that i want peace, It won’t stop him from doing anything. I’ve already told them not to cause any trouble after divorce but i know for sure that something’s gonna happen. ( I’m not saying this due to the heat of the moment. I’m saying it because he has done this countless times in the past with others. )

Trust me when i say this, talking things out is not an option for me. The only thing i can do is to prepare for the worst ( that is yet to happen in future )

I can but he’s gonna follow us. And if we do it more discreetly or in incognito he could either charge a case stating she (mom) stole money from him ( due to which police gonna look for us) OR he could just annoy my mom’s family ( when i say annoy, it’s much worse than that ).

There’s no need to win the case. Almost every cases are pending ( takes almost 6-8 years to finish one case in the court ).

I didnโ€™t mean run. I meant walling and fighting back. Counter sue, get restraining orders from all families and move away. There is no running unfortunately, you need to fight back.

That’s what he wants, this case gonna take forever and lots of money. You have to bribe every official just to do their own job ( in case you don’t know, officials nowadays don’t do their own job without extra money, they’ll just redirect you everywhere just like when you click on pop up ads. )

Then he’s gonna make us compromise (as we would be just too frustrated)

I’d rather unalive myself than circle around court and stuffs..

That is not an option. Take professional help if you have such thoughts. You have your whole life ahead of you. Spiteful people like him croak quicker than you think. It may seem like all hope is lost but itโ€™s rarely the case. You probably just need better legal counsel to make sure you can make his life as worse as he is doing and bring him to the compromise table.

Ur right man! Indian law is neither for men nor women. ( Men getting false divorce while women aren’t getting any justice )
( Jokes on me i am considered now an adult, I can’t be protected by minor laws now )
