Im type 1 diabetic in delhi, india, and wanted to know what can i do if i get a job, tell them im type 1 diabetic, and then they fire me.

First, being diabetes is not a disability. Secondly, it can be controlled with exercise, diet and drugs.

Why would you be fired for being diabetic?

Don’t they get some desk job and not be in active duty if handicapped? Firing for no fault of their own is discrimination.

Yes there are different Desk Job But I don’t think there is job for Handicapped in defence services, and also before receiving joining letter he will receive the rejection from medical checkup if he wants a job of defence services or active duty job

please, I beg you, do your research before responding.
Type 1 diabetes can’t be managed by diet and excersise.
You need insulin.
Also they might think I’d be less productive cus I have a chronic disease

Type 1 diabetics can eat sweets….. We just need to dose insulin for it.
If they fire me for that it’d still be unfair

Do you take medication for it? If yes, there is a chance they could find out.

Would they not do a test before giving the appointment letter? If they find out and don’t accept you, then it is what it is. If they do not find out, you’re in.

I am not sure what they can do if diabetes appears after you’ve joined.

they aint allowed to discriminate

if they do before hiring, they can just say its cuz u arent a good fit

if they do it after, right after u tell them, yk its cuz ur diabetic

I don’t think that should be a problem. My friend’s mom is diabetic idk which one it is but she needs insulin shots and she worked pretty well until she took a VRS so yh shouldn’t be a problem and if they say it is, in pretty sure it’s illegal
