February 15, 2025 at 9:26 amSomeone has been messaging women who follow me/I follow them inappropriately. I have a public page (I’m an artist) so some of these people I haven’t spoken to much or ever, they don’t know what I act/sound like and so entertained this person…They’re using my name, my city, and whatever they’ve gathered about me. Creating various IDs and stuff.
This has been happening on and off for sometime now (over a year on and off). Is there any action I can take that won’t consume a lot of my time and energy?
Thank you.

February 15, 2025 at 10:05 amHey, you can report identity theft to both police and cybercrime cells.Do this, not let them continue as it will eventually affect you, and if you let them, it’ll be your fault that you didn’t report it.
Report on the Cyber Crime Portal
1: Visit https://cybercrime.gov.in
2: then select this Report Other Cyber Crimes, now choose “Identity Theft” then attach screenshots, and page names and stuff
3: they will send you an acknowledgment with a reference number,Based on that file an FIR, you can send it to Instagram, and they will delete those pages and profile or whatever.
