January 30, 2025 at 6:54 amI booked for two separate parcels to be collected by the IP parcel collection service on Monday.
Both parcels were labelled with their respective addresses, one to Mumbai and one to London, UK.
I had communicated over WhatsApp to the man in the office that the uk parcel needs to be shipped by regular and the Mumbai one by speed post as it had to be used for a shoot on a certain day (I was told it would reach by that date)
After they were taken to the post office I received only one receipt which was for the uk parcel. After two days of asking for the Mumbai parcel receipt it could not be found because someone in Mapusa Post Office has STITCHED TOGETHER both parcels and sent them to the uk.
Now I have lost my parcel that my customer is waiting for. I make clothes by hand and now they have shipped it to the other side of the world and I cannot get it back. Both parcels were packed in courier bags with two different addresses on, so not a single person in the office can read???
Can I take any action??? -

January 30, 2025 at 6:59 amAt least you got your parcels shipped. In my case they sent me from pillar to post telling me to finish one thing that was missing only to tell me the next thing that was missing once I finished the first thing and came back. You should be able to sue them, but since they did not give you receipts you may not have proof you need. However, one good thing about people at post office is they don’t need to pay out of pocket when you sue them. They won’t lose their jobs either. So they have no reason to lie in court.

January 30, 2025 at 7:04 amI have the receipt for the package as both were sent to the uk as one parcel and I have that tracking slip. Itβs just that it was a Mumbai package taped to it. I have asked the customer to please film how it arrives so you can see the two parcels with two different addresses on. I will definitely go about suing them. I use them for business purposes and the manager has come over to my place a few times to pressure me into making a video review of how good the collection service is. He asked me to make this before I even sent a parcel with it, I declined and told him I do not lie and I will only make a genuine review once you have shipped my parcels and they have been received-

January 30, 2025 at 7:47 amYeah. Good luck βsuingβ India Post.Your best recourse would be District Consumer Court/Forum. Unless you had insurance, your damages will be limited to the maximum cap as per India Post policy.

January 30, 2025 at 4:40 pmI am not sure if you can sue them. But I have heard that if parcel is sent to wrong address, there is a big enquiry and show cause done internally on India Post size.I don’t know what criteria they use to identify that parcel has been sent to wrong address. Because if you went to post office yourself and got separate challan for each parcel, then you had proof that you had put everything correctly. But here, as far as I understand, you used some intermediary who maybe filled in wromg information when booking the parcels. Will this qualify as India Post fault, I am not sure.
But do raise issue in CPGrams for this. And maybe a Consumer Forum complaint as well.

January 31, 2025 at 12:09 amI had two parcels collected and they put both in a box and sent to one address rather than send the two parcels as they were to the addresses written on the front like a normal person-

January 31, 2025 at 5:20 amIs the IP Parcel collection service operated by India Post employees themselves? Or is it a 3rd party service?-
