April 20, 2025 at 3:18 amI got scammed by this seller named Yoginstinct a few years ago. It’s not just me, he scammed a bunch of people. For context, he sold beyblades and anime related merch like official figures and such. The story went like this, I found him through a recommendation made by a person from Reddit [He was just a consumer like me, he knew nothing better]. I thought, ugh… why not, it is better than importing and getting slapped by 100% import taxes. So, I went and talked to him and joined his group. At first everything was going smoothly. People ordered and they got what they paid for until he started taking Pre-orders. He was pretty popular in the Indian beyblade community, and the Indian anime community knew him. So like everyone else I followed the herd. That’s when things got sketchy, People started to doubt him, and months went by, and eventually he closed his WhatsApp group chat, stating some kind of excuse, I don’t particularly remember. Even when all of this happened, things went and people ordered from him not knowing anything better as I did too until it accumulated to 30k+. Then after a year, he wrote an apology in the announcements stating that he will not scam us and that he will find the best possible resolution for the delay and pending orders. Now a year has passed and nothing has been said or done by him. I even messaged him a bunch of times but he’s ignoring me. It seems he’s still in business, selling and delivering in stock items but none of the pre orders I mentioned.
So here I am wondering what legal action I can take against him. I know for a fact that it’s not just me who he has scammed and that there are plenty of people he has wronged with as can be seen in the picture with the plethora of emojis. I also know that he scammed his friend [who he knows irl] a huge amount of money. So, what should I do?

April 20, 2025 at 3:27 amA consumer court case can be filed. But donyou have a reciept or anything of that sort from the seller? As the seller is not officially registered, it may be a little tricky. Another way of making him suffer would be to file an anonymous GST complaint, if you are sure that his turnover is more than 10 lakhs. In that case, he is supposed to register for GST, and he can be fined if he hasn’t done so.-

April 20, 2025 at 4:18 amIdk what his turnover is. All I know is that he’s an unregistered business owner who whines and complains about being pressured around, as he did a lot in his WhatsApp group.

April 20, 2025 at 3:52 amI was a part of the group too and had paid for 3 figures. This was around 2 years back. The way they kept making us believe that they are doing us a favour by getting us stuff felt fishy to me and the excuses for delays too just didn’t sit with me because I had imported on personal level as well. Somehow got my refund and luckily after a few months the Pandora box opened and the entire scam came into light.-
