March 2, 2025 at 2:14 pm“My father has three brothers and one sister. My grandfather owned land, three shops, and two houses which was on road . He equally and willingly gave these properties to his sons, and all of them are registered. Now, my father’s sister is asking for her portion. We belong to a Hindu family, and my grandfather has passed away, having willingly given the property to his sons.”

March 2, 2025 at 2:23 pmSince your grandfather willingly distributed and registered the property in his sons’ names while he was alive, it would generally be considered a valid transfer. If everything was done legally, your aunt might not have a strong claim. However, if she believes the property was ancestral and not your grandfatherβs self-acquired asset, she might try to challenge it. It would be best to consult a lawyer to get a clear legal perspective based on your specific situation.-
