As the title suggests, I’m wanting opinions from people who’d help address this concern as it’s getting really difficult for me to even live by life due to this. Apparently I was diagnosed with a medical condition and my doctor asked me to resign from flying (Temporary as I just needed few months to heal but I wasn’t willing to take more LWPs). Since I was ‘unfit to fly’ at that time, I obviously couldn’t have served the notice period, my manager asked me to request for a decrease in the number of days for the same which I did. It was also approved and I returned my AEP and QRH as well on my LWD. One month later this airline emails me to pay the FnF of almost 30,000 rupees for not serving notice period. I emailed them back highlighting my medical condition and my inability to serve the period even if I wanted to me. I also specified how the period was shortened to 15 days from 30 days. No response, I emailed them everyday asking them to acknowledge but they never replied until today, asking me to pay the amount asap. I believe since I couldn’t fly for genuine reasons and the notice period was also shortened, I’m not entitled to pay the ransom? They’re not checking my previous emails and I’m getting anxious due to this. I’m also threatened if at all this airline can take legal action me if I continue to deny paying them?

Will this affect my records if I decide not to pay them even though it’s not my fault and if having this airlines name on my resume will affect my future opportunities? Please advice.

Thanks for responding but is that true? I tried going through that section but it didn’t quite have anything on it.

Sure, but every company actually demands money if notice ain’t served, so this is a new info for me. I’ll go through that, thanks again!

Do you have written evidence confirming the company agreed to 15 days NP? Did you serve out the reduced NP?
