Is it legal for an organization to send me a back-dated employment letter?

My org is going through some kind of a fund crunch because of which they’re saying they’ll send out monthly contracts, starting this month. The contract is supposed to be valid from 1 April 2025 to 30 April 2025. But they sent the contract on 5 April 2025. Is it legal for them to do so?

Yes, back dated contracts are permissible for as long as the terms of the agreement were already in operation on the earlier date from which the contract is being made effective.

i think it is okay, as long as they consider you serving date from 1st till 30.
