Not common. Very hard to prove since no action of any government office can be individually assigned to him alone. There are SoPs making a lot of people responsible for one act, so the whole department assists and conviction is very rare

That is in the lower court. Most of them get reversed in HC and SC.

Yes, have handled both CBI and ED cases to know that they mostly end up in acquittal

But we’re a normal middle class family not some rich and powerful . My father’s has been scapegoated on a project he hasn’t even worked upon

Then it will come out in the trial. The thing is, justice system is rotten and only poor people pay the price. Since your father is a government officer, he can get a decent lawyer who will handle it. Too many loopholes . It will take time, maybe till HC, but it will go away

What will come out in the trial? Won’t the court also be in favour of rich and powerful?

                                      Are you sure sir?

The truth I mean. The judge will see the evidence not the money. The lower court judges are mostly fair

See, nothing is certain, but based on your saying that your father is innocent, I believe that that will be proved. However, the actual thing depends on the evidence that is there

If due to my father’s negligence it caused loss of 100s of crores then is life imprisontment likely?
