  We wanted to change our advocate for a maintanence case (matrimonial) and she is charging 70,000 rupees for 2 cases one case is maintanence and the other is enhancement of maintanence case in district court in same city(35,000 each) just for filing vakaltama is this too much ? Our case is in a tier 3 city in Andhra pradesh.

  She also says she charges 10,000 rupees for a legal notice? Isnt this too expensive?

    depends tier city lawyer chages me 10k for appearence tier one charges 2.5k + cab charges to tier 2 . tier one charged 70k for divorce filing, 10k per notice

  As a lawyer, I would say that every Advocate has their own fee schedule, which is based on certain factors, which are best unquestioned. You’ll find another Advocate doing the same job for lesser, which in no manner makes anyone better or worse. It’s upto you to compare and analyse who is best suited for your matter in the larger scheme of things and decide accordingly.

  See a lawyer fee depends on their experience and how good they are in their fields, lawyer even charge more than 50k for sending a legal notice. However, even in tier 3 city if someone charging you this much he might have good practice over there as well as well versed experience.

  That’s way too much just for filing the vakalatnama. Even top lawyers in delhi don’t charge that much. Find another one.

  For just filing vakalatnama? Yeah, this is too much. And this coming from a Tier 1 city advocate.
