Jail for shoplifting?

My 14 year old cousin shop lifted a Dior sauvage Elixir tester bottle, long story short they got my number checked cctv and called me and asked about him. They said they’ll file a police fir and shit. Then I tell him, to just return it and come back. Then when he went to return it he told them of you have any problem you can speak with my lawyer but bro…… he doesn’t fucking have a lawyer and they were planning to charge him. Could they file a complaint against him and get him arrested for stealing a TESTER bottle? Also what could’ve he done to avoid giving the bottle back?

Why don’t you offer to pay for the tester bottle? And also make your cousin apologise?

dont know about tester bottle but the cost of that specific spray its around 13k to 19k rupees

damn that steal is costly asf maybe thats why they want to move legally

Even if he gets arrested, he cannot be kept in Jail. He can be kept in an observation home till the case goes to Juvenile Justice Board though I think this case will be dismissed easily since he offered to return the bottle back and JJB or Police might not take it seriously coz it’s a perfume
