February 14, 2025 at 9:04 amHi all,I need some advice regarding a situation we’re facing. We live in a home that is over 100 years old, and it turns out that the property is situated on government land. We reside in a village, and behind our house, there is a large mud mound (which isn’t really a mountain but is prone to landslides). One of our neighbors, who acquired land through the Tenancy Act, now wishes to sell his land to settle in the city. He is causing us trouble by claiming that a portion of our house belongs to him, as he wants to build a road there.
We’ve been living here for many years, and this issue is escalating as he refuses to engage in any discussion. What legal steps can we take to resolve this? We have various old documents, including a certificate and bond papers issued by past kings who allocated the land to us, as well as house tax records and other paperwork. However, the survey number is not in our name.
