        My father (late) has two kids including me (son) and a daughter.

        He only has one property – an apartment, in his name. Now that he is no more, I want to get it registered under my name. In this regard, I have two questions:

        1. Documents needed to get this done.

        2. Can this be done without informing the daughter (my sister)? Or whether her signature/approval is needed too for this matter?

          Share equally with your sister

          Relationships are more valuable

            Both mother and daughters signature are required!

                Is there any way to bypass the daughter? What if I get it transferred to mother (still with me) and then mother will pass it to me?

                Please answer. This is important. I know this is sounding very unethical and immoral but you don’t know our current situation and I also don’t want to disclose it.

                    Not possible without daughter, you or your mother.
                    All three are required.

                    The succession certificate needs all 3 of you – no easy way to bypass.

                    Sell and divide the money with sister, mother and you equally. No income tax because its ancestral property. Buy something else with the money you get. No hassles, no future legal issues.

                      In absence of Will, no other short cuts.
                      Property will be transferred to your mother, sister and yourself.

                      Later, mother and sister have to execute release deed. Then property will be in your name.
