April 9, 2025 at 6:50 pmLawyer is quoting absurd amounts after the conclusion of a quashing petition. Is there a lawyer here willing to confer and tell me if this is legitimate?
Is there any legal risk if I reject his invoices? There was an initial discussion of amounts and weโve already paid a little more than that to him. He says that thereโs been way more effort than they imagined and itโs taken longer than they thought it would.
Thanks in advance! -

April 9, 2025 at 6:56 pmYeah, Iโd rather not do that. Itโs taken me ages to get out of a legal mess in the first place. Just wanted friendly advice on how to tackle this. It sort of feels a little like extortion now.

April 9, 2025 at 7:46 pmIโm striving for that but the amounts Iโve been given are double what we had discussed. The fees were extremely steep in the first place.

April 10, 2025 at 2:53 amCalmly say,
First, that you cannot afford to pay that much bill.
Then pay whatever you discussed earlier. If it fails…
Then say him, that this was the amount we discussed, so I can pay that only..If the case is still pending, ask for NOC.
