FI’m 22 years old and recently went through something that has shaken me mentally, and I need legal clarity on how this might affect my future.
A woman filed a complaint against me under Section 354 IPC. However, there was no arrest, no FIR, and no physical force involved. The police treated it as a Non-Cognizable (NC) complaint, and after some days, I was asked to sign a preventive bond under Section 107 CrPC at the DSP office, to maintain peace for 6 months.
It’s been 52 days from incident over a month since I signed the bond. I have not received any further notice, call, or follow-up from the police. The situation has remained silent.
My concerns are: 1. Will this NC and preventive bond show up in police verification for jobs, passports, or visa applications? 2. Will this affect my character certificate, if I apply for one in the future? 3. Is there any way to remove or close this NC from records over time? 4. How long will this remain visible in police databases (if at all)? 5. If I shift to another city or police jurisdiction, can this record follow me or be accessed easily?
And on a more personal note — this whole situation has left me emotionally shattered. I’ve never had a relationship. I’ve always wanted one, but now I’m constantly living in fear that if I get close to someone again, it could go wrong and ruin my life.
I’m seriously questioning if I should even date, meet, or hook up with anyone anymore. I’ve started avoiding friends and even casual connections. I’m even considering staying celibate and emotionally detached just to feel safe.
I’m scared. I don’t trust my own judgment anymore. I just want to understand: legally and practically, how serious is this? Can I move forward with a clean slate? Or is this always going to follow me?
If anyone from the legal field could guide me clearly, I’d really appreciate it.

FHe said NC hai kuch nahi hua bhul jaa mai dekh lunga, he is not a criminal lawyer but he works in my dads firm takes cares of legal there, this incident has shaken my confidence I don’t feel good, i feel so helpless. I don’t talk to anyone avoiding meeting girls i was talking to, earlier I wanted to meet more girls date hookup but now I can’t even think that way only thing that comes to my head is if they turn against my life will be screwed

HSomething doesn’t add up here. Section 354 of the IPC is a cognizable offence, which means the police are duty-bound to register an FIR. So how was it treated merely as an NC complaint? Moreover, why did police invoke Section 107 of the CrPC in this context, as Section 107 pertains to preventive action in cases of apprehended breach of peace, not to cognizable offences like Section 354 of IPC.

FBecause this happened in bus, no violence was involved moreover police wasn’t interested or it was relavent to for an fir, so the filed an NC, and released me on notice, after 20 days they called me and asked to sign bond in dcp office, after that i have never received any fir copy, any court summons nor any calls its been 55 days from the incident today

Your facts don’t quite add up. Under Section 107 of the CrPC, a bond cannot simply be given to the police without the involvement of an Executive Magistrate. Did you receive a copy of the NC or the bond itself? Was any show cause notice issued to you, or was there any order passed directing you to execute the bond?
