Legal advice needed a 23yr old case notice received in my mom’s name

Yesterday received a legal court notice that too 23yr old case in my mom’s name for a complaint filed in court in 1996 by a party for default payment in a business dealings done by my now demised uncle, he did named my mother 1st party in business n even signed the paperwork on his own without our consent and knowledge n now after 23yr we came to know about this, now court have summoned her to be present in court for fast track hearing of old pending cases which have been degitalised recently by govt. We have no idea what to do kindly help, this happened at our ansistral hometown when they went to visit there for a short period for some work we don’t live there permanently only visit 1-2 in years

Can’t say much without looking into the specifics.

First of all make sure the notice is genuine and not some scam. Best is to get some lawyer in your hometown to look into the matter and get the complete details. You can decide on your response / strategy after that.

If she signed some documents then there is no escaping this easily, in all honesty you need a lawyer to respond to it.

Check the past orders passed in the case too.

There are many way to get out of it but you need a lawyer to help you through it
