April 23, 2025 at 5:40 pmDonโt bother to respond or pay. If the amount is not large, ignore and tell the caller you are filing a harassment case.-

April 23, 2025 at 7:46 pmThe loan is not in India. At best they can file a civil case in Kuwait to get you to pay. They are just trying to scare you to pay a loan they know itโs not legally tenable in India. If they could have filed a civil or criminal complaint in India, they would have already done that. They canโt. So they are trying to scare you.-

April 23, 2025 at 7:50 pmA lawyer told me to go for one time settlement based on the fact that civil case judgement in Kuwait can be used and file a civil case in india, in these types of cases courts usually side with banks and ask the customer to payback with outstanding with interest. What’s your take on this!? Are you a lawyer by profession. Sorry if I overstepped. Just wanted to take confirmation-

April 23, 2025 at 8:38 pmI had an outstanding CC debt in Singapore in 2007.
Didnโt pay it as my employer had removed me without notice or lending pay.
Returned to India.
Citi asked me to repay the outstanding debt. Told them to go fuck themselves.
They tried collecting in India through their branch.
Complained to RBI ombudsman about illegal and fake CC charges when I didnโt hold a CC in India.
Citi quietly stopped contacting me.

April 23, 2025 at 5:49 pmHello. I am a practicing advocate. Do not pay. Let them take whatever legal action they can. It is anyway a civil matter, unless they resort to cheapskate methods of filing a false FIR. Please do not hesitate to reach out and send a personal messgae if you need any further assistance in the matter. -

April 23, 2025 at 6:21 pmNAL:If you don’t want to pay then don’t.
However make sure that you never travel / transit through GCC countries in the future as depending on the amount (if greater than KD 1000 usually but lower too depending on the bank, some go as low as even KD 100) there will be a lookout notice for you.
They can do nothing to you in India. You can ignore them
