UHi everyone. I am F27 from a small district in Haryana. And I have been facing several issues since my father passed away in Oct 2024.
Background: My mother is my father’s second wife. He was married to my mother’s big sister before her but she died very early leaving her two young sons.
To help raise them, my maternal family married their youngest daughter to my dad. And then I was born.
So, I have 2 step brothers. Elder one is a govt teacher, younger one doesn’t do anything.A few years ago, the younger step brothers made issues and demanded partition of property. After major fights, a panchayat was called and dad gave him half our main house, one smaller house in the city, and one house in our village. And it was decided that he and the elder one will get half property. The elder got one plot. And for mom and me, he sold one plot for 20 lakhs and made 2 FD. One in my mom’s name and other 10 lakh in his name. The 20 lakhs were basically supposed to used for my wedding. And my mom got other half of the house we live in, and she would get pension since my dad was a govt servant. We were okay with this arrangement. Nothing was official, except my younger brother made my dad transfer everything he got right then.
Issues:
1. When we started sorting out finances after dad’s demise, we found out that the younger brother had gotten my dad to transfer/lend the 10 lakhs FD to his brother in law. But father passed away soon, and he then took the money and kept it and refusing to pay a single penny. We were hoping that atleast the property that was still in dads name will be divided in all of us. But turned out, he had already gotten das to transfer literally all the property in his name to him as well. Just 4 months before his death.
Now, me and mom are left with nothing expect the half the house we live in and those 7-8 lakh FD my mom had.All of this also raised suspicions that he might’ve been involved in dad’s death, considering all this transactions were so recent and he got the money from his brother in law also right after my dad died.
My dad passed peacefully in his sleep, and he didn’t let us take him to the doc or for postmortem and rushed the cremation. Since then he has also been acting erracting, drinking all day and has been making donations in dads name and doing pind daan and what not and is constantly scared that dad is still here. (maybe acts of guilt resolving)
2. After we figured out this, we called for another Panchayat for resolution, but he refused. On top of it, he showed some fake indecent video of him to all the men in the room to malign my image. and justify his act.
I have not seen the video, he is showing everyone except us, and apparently it’s that bad that no one is able to tell us what’s in that video. But it’s me with a bunch of guys. The video is most certainly fake because I have never put myself in any such situation. People asked him to send them the video so they could analyze it, but he is refusing to send it. He just shows it to literally every relative we have and every man we know who is helping us.
3. We called 2 paternal cousins to discuss the issue, but he went to the police and his wife said that the cousins sexually harassed them. Thankfully police didn’t register that complaint but now everyone is scared to help us. Or even visit us.. As he can go to any low that we can’t even imagine.
He also has some mid level political connections and contacts with lawyers and police seniors so he is pretty secured.
Please help me out. What can I do? What options do I have?
I can file an FIR for video but I don’t have any proof just witnesses. And he can delete the video easily if he feels threatened.I want to investigate my father’s death but he has been cremated, ashes dispersed and no postmortem. Can I build a solid case without that?
Can I challenge the transfer of money that my dad himself did? And transfer of property as well.
P.S: I am pretty sure that dad didn’t do it willingly. He was either manipulated, threatened or was under some influence.
I would’ve let the money go, since I am earning decent and wanted to be out of this mess, but this is now mental harassment and my own brother doing a video like that has destroyed me completely.

CNAL, so I cannot give any legal advice. But I think you can file a case against him for spreading immodest videos of you? Also, record every conversation you have with him, in video or audio at least.
Also, this is such a terrible situation to be in OP. I hope you get a way out.

Uas aperson who’s from haryana too
1st – panchayat will never solve your issue
2nd – people around you just want to use you nd take benefits
3rd nobody will help you if you go for a case it will took about 10 years to get solve
4 if you’ve 10+ lakh money on your own get away from house and the place you live now because all will thrash you downstay safe bebe things are too much against you.

UIf the property or FD is in the name of your father than you will get the money and the land….but you can’t do anything in the case of the investigation regarding your father’s death because fir evidence postmortem is required and on that basis investigation starts….my father is a lawyer…and tomorrow I can tell you the solution regarding your problem…I will ask him what can we do in this case so that you can get justice and the property which you and your mom deserve….just keep in touch…
