April 13, 2026 at 4:56 amI received a ₹4000 JioMart gift card from a friend to help with my monthly groceries since am going through a financially tough time rn. Yesterday, I placed an order worth ₹248 and applied the gift card assuming the remaining balance would stay in the card like Amazon and Flipkart. But today when I tried to use the remaining balance, the gift card showed as already redeemed. I contacted JioMart support and they told me that their gift cards can only be used once for the full value, and any unused balance is basically forfeited. I had no idea about this rule, and honestly it feels really unfair. Now I have effectively lost around ₹3750 which is a huge amount for me right now. Is there any way to recover the remaining balance? -

Usage: Valid for one-time use, and cannot be used for partial payment (single order only).Nothing you can do, indirectly it’s Your fault for not making sure what are the terms of gift card.

April 13, 2026 at 5:10 amThere is only one option, try to call customer care and tell them that you need to return the products you bought. Think of a solid reason. Then demand the gift card back.
Very slight chances but not 0

April 13, 2026 at 5:15 amThere is no option for this There’s clear mention in TnC , I faced the same issue with 200 rupees and gone legally just to try but the judge gave the decision on there favour as it’s mentioned in TnC

April 13, 2026 at 5:22 amThis actually is a scam. Even though people will now tell me it’s written in the tncs! So what? Such tncs must be removed and highlighted immediatelyHas any one thought where is the unused money going?

April 13, 2026 at 5:31 amThis is can potentially be called a dark pattern and you can in theory argue it in a court successfully, however the time and effort required for this won’t really justify any compensation you might get. -

April 13, 2026 at 6:35 amlol, there was only one right answer to my question (out of thousands of cities in India) and you said it. I have one other similar matter which I need to file in consumer court (in chd). I will help you out as well as the facts are precisely same. It will take time, law allows you 2 year window to challenge it, so don’t expect immediate return of money but we will report this scam
