May 7, 2026 at 8:21 pmSEIZED MY BIKEWe live in the university, right outside our main gate there is a camera which captures number plates and fines for not wearing helmet. Because of the same most of us duct tape some part of the number plates. Today, I was stopped by rude police officer (SI) where i was just leaving for haircut on my friend’s bike. The bike was seized immediately, without even asking for relevant documentation. I was also fined for 9000 rs.. please help me what to do here 🙏🙏🙏
These are the charges
1: 207 mv act
2: Failure to present Driving License on demand ( MV act 1988 S 130 Rule15(7) S
177)
3: Driving Two-wheeled without helmets (
» Section 194 D of MVA 1988 RW section 129 of CMVA and rule 121 of U.P. MVR 1998. )
4: faulty number plate ( Section 192 read with Rule 51 of the CMV rules 1989)
5: Failure to present Registration Certificate on demand ( MV act 1988 S 130 Rule15(7) S
177)

May 7, 2026 at 8:36 pmYou do realise you could have just worn the helmet instead of going through this ordeal-

May 7, 2026 at 8:42 pmgo to court and plead guilty and ask for mercy infront of the judgepreferably take a lawyer with you it will be decreased by a lot
or if you can wait go for lok adalat you don’t need any lawyer there just say sorry to judge and say it’ll not be done againyour 9000 would become 1500 in my opinion
I had 25k challan on my car due to some issue and in court the fine was reduced to 4200 paid 2000 to the lawyer

May 7, 2026 at 10:30 pmlok adalat is a nationwide court setup for solving matters and not dragging them forward as there are so many pending cases so the judges offer settlement to both the parties and you can settle your case there and then with lesser fines and both parties are relieved also they just reduce the fine whatever they think is appropriate just don’t ask them to make it lower as they’re overworked that day and they might ask you to pay in full if you argue or something so just say sorry and they’ll pass the lower amount judgement but the thing is that it happens on certain datesyou need to check it online for your state
