January 22, 2025 at 8:22 amcontext: my aunt and uncle were arranged marriage, then my uncle took her abroad with him to work. then they had a child so my aunt stayed back in india mostly coz of the child. my uncle worked back in abroad and earned money and yk paid for everything for my aunt. my uncle treated and treats my aunt very well.but now my aunt suddenly hates my uncle and she also like started screaming and beating my uncle, we have eye witness but they are family. day before yesterday my aunt took everything from the house (like everything) and the child ( they have 2 now, she took the boy and told she didn’t want the girl). and today the police called my uncle and told him to come to the station since a case was filed against him. so he went the reason why he was called he has not told anyone and he went to the station alone.
my aunt idk how to explain her but as the rest of the family says shes a bit messed up. noone in her family tells her anything she does is bad. everything my uncle has is put in my aunt’s name. now they are talking abt divorce but everything is owned by my aunt. even though everything is paid for by my uncle. we just need some advice on how to get the property back.

January 22, 2025 at 8:51 amopen lines of communication between couples is really poor among Indians. they hold on to their thoughts and feelings and bottle it up for so long and then the final outburst happens like this…. especially when one spouse is abroad most of the time in a year.just imagine, the husband thinks that he is doing his bit by staying away from family and earning for them but he gets used to the loneliness and very less of them try to make a return back to make a career in india.
the wife thinks that she has been burdened with children to raise them without any physical support… only virtual support via calls. then they start doubting their husband and what not. money becomes a constant inflow, so they stop valuing the effort it takes to earn it.
I have seen a similar situation in my family but thankfully my aunt is very religious and it keeps her busy and thinks that the life that she is living is a test of God and there is a light at the end of the tunnel type shit….

January 22, 2025 at 9:04 amIn arranged marriages the girl paremts chose such guys cuz they are rich in the first place, they don’t look for guy who will love their child and give their daughter time she needs. This is not a valid argument. What will opening up to other person solve when their marriage was done against their permission in most cases.
Also the guy is fked as always, legally.

January 22, 2025 at 9:58 amThat’s why I say hindu marriages are like prostitution where bride sets a price for herself under the guise of expected salary of groom. But I get banned-

January 22, 2025 at 5:06 pmI have also seen cases as an intern where it was basically an extortion outlet for the bride’s father to justify all of his previous spendings that the incoming son-in-law should not only satisfy bride’s future costs but also take up his role implicitly with regards to finance – continuing the princess treatment which he started. And in worse cases, his business too eventually. To enable the enabler enabling the entitlement, to christen a new enabler because the guy gets to marry her, the woman is treated like a coveted prize that he should win over and surprisingly many women are okay with this behaviour of their fathers and even proud about it, at least from the cases I saw.
Rampant across all religions though, especially significant in Christians.

January 22, 2025 at 10:54 amtotally agree.. the guy is fucked in the eyes of the law.
open lines of communication, I said this because people are surprised and s confused when the outburst happens….now the OP clearly says no one knows including her husband why the aunt is acting the way she is.I am not defending either side… just trying to guess the cause of the issue.

January 22, 2025 at 9:55 amDoes he have in possession of any document which could prove his claim? Like Transaction history (if its money), Old property deed etc. That might help regain the property. The thing is the probability of gettin those property might also depend on the gravity of FIR. If your uncle is guilty by those FIR charges he might lose the property and his wife will get divorce cuz of that (since she filed for divorce as well)
