May 4, 2025 at 9:34 amYesterday, my sister shared a story from my account. Now, this is my story. My brother-in-law, whose name is Manas Tripathy, used to send me inappropriate messages. He used to come to our house and touch me inappropriately and kiss me on my cheek and neck that too forcefully . He used to force himself on me when i was 15 . When I was asleep, he would forcefully come into my room and get on top of me. I used to push him away whenever he tried to force himself on me. He also used to ask me to send him secret clicks and not to tell my sister or anyone .I told my family everything about this matter. But my brother-in-law told them that I was depressed and making false accusations. When I grew up and turned 22, I filed a police complaint against him. However, SBP’s IIC, Anna Minz, did not listen to my story or check any evidence and simply said I was making false allegations-even though I had proof.
Pls shame him. This trauma will never go away . I want him to be punished badly but cant do anything about it -

May 4, 2025 at 10:38 amIrrespective of your current age, he will face consequences for SA of a minor and might face punishment up to life imprisonmentSexting with a minor is not defined by any law in India (unless involves inappropriate private pics) though it would be considered as an obscene act with a minor
Did he ever mention touching you inappropriately in the chats?

May 4, 2025 at 10:40 amGood that you got the FIR registered. Now, since the FIR is filed, but local authorities like the SBP IIC are still not taking proper action, here’s what can be done next:
—
1. Follow Up with the Superintendent of Police (SP)
You should submit a written complaint to the SP stating:
FIR is registered.
Police are not taking proper action (no arrest, delay in investigation, etc.).
Names of officials who are being negligent (e.g., IIC, Anna Minz).
This forces the SP to either take action or explain the delay.
—
2. File a Complaint with the Court (if investigation is stalled)
Under Section 173(8) CrPC, the court can monitor investigation progress. You can:
File an application in court requesting the Magistrate to monitor or order timely investigation/arrest.
The court can summon the officer in charge if needed.
—
3. Complain to NCPCR or NCW with FIR Details
Share the FIR number, date, name of accused, and local authority inaction.
Email it to:
poscoe-box@ncpcr.gov.in (for POCSO-related issues)
complaintcell-ncw@nic.in (for women-related cases)
Mention that action is pending despite FIR and attach screenshots/evidence.
—
4. Media and Social Pressure ( if you are comfortable)
Sometimes, tagging state child commissions, women’s commissions, or local media (Twitter/X or email) can pressure lazy authorities.
—
Let me know if you want me to help you draft a strong follow-up complaint to the SP or NCPCR.

May 4, 2025 at 12:46 pmHe doesn’t work . He’s never had a job. He and his entire family were living off my family’s money. He has extra-marital affairs and uses women for their money, then leaves them once he’s done. Right now, he’s setting up a medicine shop in Nayagarh, Odisha, using money from his extra-marital affair partner.-

May 4, 2025 at 1:07 pmIf you want to avoid the traumatic experience of going to the police and let them look at you up and down whilst scanning and judging you badly, simply file a complaint online. No huss no fuss, there’s no provision to ignore an online complain with the police department. They’ll probably then call you down with a more serious intention this time. Be as detailed as possible in your online complaint. I’m speaking from personal experience, not of assault (I’m terribly sorry that that happened to you) but of filing a complaint with the appointed thugs of the town, aka the police department.

May 4, 2025 at 5:53 pmHe has committed an offence and he will be punished. As a Lawyer, you can file a representation with the commissioner of the concerned jurisdiction stating that the local police is not registering offence.
The offence you have mentioned is a very serious offence and the Police are bound to register FIR. The police are in direct breach of the Supreme Court Judgement Lalita Kumari.
Since you also have the chats with you till now. It will help you make your case as it would act as evidence. I would advise to take backup of these chats. Take video recording of the chat along with going in the profile and showing the number of the contact so that no one can raise any disputes.
If the commissioner also doesn’t act on your letter, proceed to file an application before the Magistrate of the local jurisdiction.
For all such purposes, it is recommended to have a lawyer who can do all the above steps.

May 5, 2025 at 10:33 pmIt’s important to consider the broader impact on your sister’s married life. Even if a mistake was made, if he has learned his lesson and hasn’t repeated it, perhaps it’s time to reflect on the long-term consequences of legal action. You’re still young, and it might be more productive to focus on your career than getting involved in legal proceedings, unless absolutely necessary. Sometimes, handling matters with a logical and calm approach—through firm warnings and clear boundaries—can be more effective than involving courts and police.
Ignore the comments suggesting you file a case—those people won’t be there for the hearings or to support you during the process. Many just offer opinions without understanding the emotional and practical toll. It’s essential to think independently and not let others exploit the situation for their own benefit.

May 5, 2025 at 10:37 pmSuggestions like “go to court,” “approach the Supreme Court,” or “complain to the SP or President” may sound appealing in comment sections, but they rarely help in real life. This is a sensitive family matter, and it’s often better to resolve such issues within the home, with understanding and dialogue, rather than escalating it publicly. -
