January 14, 2025 at 12:37 pmI am a 21-year-old F, and I want to share my story to seek advice and understanding because the pain and injustice my family has endured still haunts me to this day.Back in 2012, when I was just 8 years old and my brother was 5, my father passed away under suspicious circumstances which was very traumatizing for us. He was not a great man. He had an extramarital affair, and we suspect his death was either caused by his mistress or someone in his family. My father and grandfather never got along, and their relationship was always strained. Infact , my father wanted to live seperately because of my grandfather as he used to create fights with my dad and always supported my uncle [chacha]. During my father’s funeral ceremony , I saw my grandfather laughing , smiling and there was no sign of sorrow or grief
After my father’s death, things became so much worse. My grandfather, grandmother, uncle, and aunt emotionally manipulated my mom into signing ppapers of the businesses that were set up by my dad , the LIC insurance money which was to be transferred to my mom. They fraudulently transferred ownership of everything that rightfully belonged to my mom, me, and my brother. They also took all the money that was ours. Once they secured ownership, they threw us out and left us to fend for ourselves.
As if that betrayal wasn’t enough, they pressured my mom into marrying someone else. In this new household, we were mentally abused, and life just kept getting harder for all of us.
In 2018, after years of struggle, we filed a fraud case against my grandfather for taking away what was ours. We won the case, but the process of actually getting back what belongs to us has been draining and frustrating. During the execution proceedings, my grandfather and his lawyer conveniently did not show up for most of the hearings. But when it was time for the court to make a decision, his lawyer suddenly appeared and raised objections, which delayed the case further. My mom had to change her lawyer thrice , as all of them were taking money from my grandfather to ruin the case.
What hurts the most is that while we are still fighting to get what is rightfully ours, my grandfather and his family are out enjoying life, traveling to places like Singapore. Yet, they still cannot be present for court hearings.
It breaks my heart to think about everything my mom, my brother, and I have been through. My mom has been our rock, handling all of this on her own since my father passed away. Despite all the manipulation and abuse, she has fought hard to protect us and continues to do so.
I wanted to share this story to shed light on what we have been through and to ask for advice on how to navigate these endless legal delays. Has anyone else experienced something similar? How do you deal with family betrayal and legal battles that seem to drag on forever?

January 14, 2025 at 12:51 pmThat’s the importance of having financially independant and educated partners. My ex’s mother did the opposite of your case, where a financially uneducated woman took all the money her husband would send her and buy luxuries with it and throw it away without a second thought. Long story short the husband eventually was thrown out of the house after signing his properties over to the mother. She then promptly mortgaged everyothing and is now in over 70 lakhs of debt. It’s the same situation of not being financially aware and educated. One way or another a fool and their money are soon parted.
Legally speaking that is all you can expect. All legal trials have due process and cannot be fast tracked unless it’s a minor or petty case.

January 14, 2025 at 12:53 pmMy mom although was educated but it was in a hindi medium school from a small village where uk women are not allowed to go into finance or earn money , stay independent etc. However her family’s thoughts have changed now but i wish they used to think this way then , atleast my mom would have been saved from such a life partner and such family.

January 14, 2025 at 1:05 pmpeople laugh on me when I suggest house is bought for 80 years for grand children.we need to understand the shift in society standard with time as we can see family are reduced to 2 or 4 digit.
same happend to me by family catch is that same happened to us ( family) by grandfather and uncle who influence that business is zero with huge debt to transfer all properties.
But my education help me to get our share of house at last
We also suffered like for 6 yeara because of emotional fool father, idiot elder brother good for nothing.
We don’t have vision.
Money will be used to harras you
Try to be lawyer so you can help others. Your brother can try to become lawyer.
Don’t loose hope
You cam help people stuck like you.
Find some bachelor lawyer as spouse.
We need serious classes on how to save ourselves from fraud family and relative.

January 14, 2025 at 1:09 pmOh am currently preparing for conpetetive exam and will be appearing for more competetive exams. I want them to face all kinds of backlash for what they did to us. Our society has anyways been talking about this and they have faced alot of insults already. But that is not enough for what they did to us. I always wish that if only i was 21 back then atleast i would have saved my mom from this nonsense.

January 14, 2025 at 3:30 pmTbh even dads play a huge role in this. My dad never acted like how a dad should. It was his responsibility to protect us but he failed at it , this gave a huge opportunity for his family to betray us. Sometimes parents themselves destroy their own life including their children’s too.-

January 14, 2025 at 2:46 pmIt’s indeed Sad but surely not the first case . Our Indian social movie scripts are the only gainer from this bitter reality. The laggard law will take its own pace, perseverance matters in the interim just move ahead there is a whole new world …embrace the next opportunity and make the Grand Dad miserable by your success . You can call it sweet revenge and good enough to maintain sanity in this unfair world …think over-

January 14, 2025 at 3:20 pmI empathize with what happened to youBut since a small kid i was told to be careful what i sign. There are like 1000 movies on this, yet your mum signed policy away?
And then you said you were thrown out, god forbid this was very tragic
But then they also pressured your mom to remarry? And she agreed because their intentions were now suddenly for her favor?
You need to understand how law works, it doesn’t care if your grand father laughed during funeral. Only what you can prove as fraud as per Indian law

January 14, 2025 at 3:24 pmMy mom isnt educated enough. Plus shes from a village where at that time women were not allowed to be independent and were married off at young age. So yes she had no idea what she was signing plus she was scared coz we were really young at that time , her first priority was us neither she was in a good mental state after loosing her husband. My grandfather started thus fraudulant procedure as soon as my mom’s husband died.-

January 14, 2025 at 3:30 pmWell education is different than common sense. But I understand that she could not have realized the deception then and must have been tricked into signing policy. But you do realize that getting married again, with kids? It’s a very risky step and she took it. Don’t tell me this was pressured, if yes forget property litigation this is literal slavery and forced prostitution.
And I understand you kids went thru a lot undeserving struggle, you have no clue how much property my dad has and I got 0 of it. But we kids struggled a lot and my mom did every odd job she could find and got us educated till schools. Then we managed graduating and moved out of India. This whole thing took more than 2 decades but we are in much much better place than my dad’s family is or ever will be.

January 14, 2025 at 3:34 pmTbh its all cause of her husband. A man wjen he becomes dad its his responsibility to protect his wife and his kids. My dad never acted like how a dad should. Tbh i feel jealousy when i see dads taking care of their children. Whatsoever , my mom even after struggling alot , collected funds for our education and today i will soon be graduating. But i wish , i never had a dad he ruined all of it. When the man of the famoly back offs from his responsibility outsider take all the opportunity to insult that family. This is what has happened with us. If he had chosen the right path , my grandfather wpuldnt have done all of this. It all started when my dad chose the wrong path.-

January 14, 2025 at 3:37 pmAnd my mom at that time was already in shock cause of my dad’s choices and then his death. His death was really traumatizing for us cause it wasnt something in a normal way. So yes , she wasnt concious of what she was doing. Plus at that time my mom’s family were not in support. She only had us and could only rely on dad’s family. My grandfather had emotionally manipulated her saying ” you are like a daughter to me , i will take your responsibility ” and damn he definetly took responsibility [ sarcastically] -

January 14, 2025 at 3:41 pmWhat you are writing is exactly how we feel about our dad.If you want to pursue the money, you need to play really dirty. Unethical tip, you need to plan and get them under strict laws, not the traditional fraud laws. And lawyers are always greedy, i don’t every call them corrupt because they are by nature snakes.
I strongly advise you start learning laws and take matter into your own hands. Use press and media if needed to support you, give them an inspirational story like a daughter learning law to fight against her grand parents who threw her family away and forced their daughter in law into prostitution. This will be bad PR but still PR and will bend your grandparents on their knees

January 16, 2025 at 6:53 amIn serious matters such as this, you need someone as a lawyer who won’t betray you by having an understanding/dealing with the other side, usually better if you know someone in your close relative circle from your mother’s side. If not, learn the law & fight the case yourself. Nothing against lawyers, but they will have many cases apart from yours and not sure if they will prioritize yours. Best bet is to fight it yourself.
