YMy Father’s Friend took ₹29.15 Lakh Rs from him to invest in a Forex Prop Firm which Guaranteed 12-15 percent returns every month but it turned out to being a well planned ponzi scheme
I know that is foolish to believe in those kind of returns but he fell for it and made a couple transactions to that uncle all totaling to ₹29.15 Lakhs
He recieved significant returns for a couple months but from past 7-8 months, he hasnt even recieved a rupee from that company (based in Mumbai as per what I know)
Now that uncle has been delaying the repayment of the remaining assets and had set the deadline to 18 April, but it’s almost 22nd April now and he still delays the repayment
He was supposed to recieve some commission from that company to lure my father into this ponzi scheme and mustve recieved ₹4-₹5 Lakhs as per what I know
That amount holds extreme significance for my family as my father took a loan to invest into this ponzi scheme
We don’t believe that the law enforcement of India can help us in this case as nothing would ever happen to that uncle and he would get a bail if he got a police case on him, and also because this fraud includes the forex market which is already illegal in india.
I’m 17M and I don’t know what to do, so what can possibly be done so that, that uncle returns my father’s money back
I need some serious and genuine advice please, if you’re commenting to mock us please don’t as it has took a toll on our mental health 😖

CU must be thinking every day with that 30cr what all you could have done. Happens with my father. Not as rich as you but my father lends money to his relatives and most of them was never repayed back.

EAncestral properties are a bane, not just for genuine buyers who would like to make some parcel of land productive, but also for families who can’t divide their properties, which later causes problems within families.
If India continues on the path where property rights are not secure, no one is going to invest in real estate. We can have as many “RERA” acts we want on paper, but if the implementation of law is a limp dick, then the society will collapse to jungle laws.

RNAL – I’d say engage a lawyer and press charges against them, you should have already taken legal action by now; but anyways it isnt too late now. And I don’t think forex part would stay that relevant coz this is a case of Fraud/Deceit so a good lawyer can probably prove in court that the money was taken with malicious intent and your father was ill informed of its use ( and even signatures of your father was taken in same manner ). DO NOT TRY TO TALK IT OUT coz you already lost to this scam when you said someone promised you 12-15% Monthly returns.

YThe company used Meta Trader 5 where everything related to the transactions, profit and balance showed up but we soon realised that they were using a fake apk file and not the actual app (they sent us the link to download the app) where they can show whatever balance they wanted to show and our money was never actually invested in the forex market.

YThe company used qualified traders on a freelance basis to generate 12-15 percent returns for their clients every month . We had transferred the money through net banking directly to the company’s account 😞

Ano, your dad has not been scammed. He invested in a quick rich scheme. Did not work just as 99.999% of these schemes fail.

PYoung man..exbanker and lawyer here.This has to be fought . You need to ask a lawyer to send notice and give time. If after 7 day notice period you should ask the lawyer to initiate civil suit for recovery ans also ask court to freeze ponzi uncles account. Which city is ponzi uncle located in ?
The faster you move, the sooner you will see your money back.

MI Narrowly escaped a similar situation. A friend of mine wanted 1.5 lakhs to invest in a hotel business that he said will give him 30% return every month. Knowing something about finance, I wasnt naive to believe that. Anything above 10-12% return per annum should be ponzi scheme.

BI got scammed out of 2k rupees. I was not in a good mental state at the time when I got scammed. That small loss pained so much. 30 lakhs would be a loss too much to swallow.
Others have suggested you a legal recourse. We all know how much time it takes.
Also, never buy land in India, it is another way of losing money. Yes the returns are great but it takes a toll.
Since you are asking questions on reddit, using force also seems out of your scope. If you have really good connection(not I know a guy who knows a guy) with some powerful person, ask his help, even offer 3 lakhs as fee if he helps you recover the amount. -
