UMy friend 38M who is on project abroad , his wife 37F ( working) has filed fake Dowry and Harrasment case against his whole family ( Mother 65F, Sister 33F , Brother 34M & his Wife 29F).
Their’s was Intercaste love marriage my friend belongs to SC community and his wife upper caste.
So we all know there was no dowry as they knew each other since school. His wife’s family has high ranking Police Officer.They also attended her wedding and had been to my friends house also. All knowing they have influenced the filing of FIR.
His wife’s Mother never wanted to marry into lower caste but for daughter sake did. While she always wanted to break the marriage thinking my friend living standards are not as good as their caste. Throught marriage she tried to instigate my friends family multiple times to raise dispute so that she can file case against them.
Although both were working so there was no issue of living standards.
What to do in such blatant misuse of power and law by people who are sworn to protect us?
Their family is targeted becoz my friend dared to marry into an upper caste family.
EDIT 1: my friends family members live in separate cities. His marriage has been 5 years. So we know there was no harrasment or violence as none of lived long enough together as all were working in different cities.

SGet a lawyer and file SC/ST Act cases against wife and her family. Though consult with a good lawyer before taking any further steps

USince this is only one side of the story, it’s hard to believe.
If the wife has filed this case, then why tf did he marry such a woman ? Wasn’t he aware of her true intentions, even in love marriage when everyone was against it ?
If this guy didn’t ask for dowry, wife wouldn’t have any proof of it. So this won’t stand in the court.

UYes, and I consume a lot of information on these kinds of cases.
This guy seems too fixated to create an impression that his friend is innocent. This could be a bias, but can also be a red flag.

UFor wife no proof is required. Onus lies on husband family.
Since I have been part of my friends family since childhood I know every event, all the charges in FIR are false. But police won’t care and they have influenctial High ranking Police on their side.-
UI’m talking about the courts, not a police FIR.
Both parties need to present proofs there.Let me tell you one thing, you mentioned that the mother of the wife hated your friend’s family due to their lower caste and tried to instigate disputes and fights.
If the wife or her mother or anybody in their family said/did something demeaning out of hatred for your friend’s caste, your friend’s family can find a remedy using the SC/ST act (which is very very powerful). There, the onus of proof lies on the accused.

UIt seems your friend’s wife wants him to divorce her, but he is refusing. Hence, the fir—there is no other way to obtain a divorce in this country when one party is unwilling to agree to a mutual consent divorce. This is my best hypothesis. If this is truly the case, ask your friend to divorce her as soon as possible.

oh there is, it’s just inconvenient.. I mean can you imagine waiting 2-3 years for a non-contested divorce. Also who would give up a legally sanctioned chance at torturing your ex.

How and why did the wife change after marriage?
I mean why is she directly going for a fake dowry case all of a sudden? Why not just a divorce? How did this take U turn after a proper marriage?
If dowry wasn’t given then your friend doesn’t need to worry.

PExactly.. there are so many loopholes in this whole story. Why after 5 yrs of love marriage wife suddenly decided to take divorce. Usually parents accept the marriage after few years in such cases. How can her mother manipulate her? If he is in abroad where is wife?

UHe goes abroad on projects , wife’s working in India , due to her mother’s influence and interference their relationship was turbulent also due to job they didn’t had stability of living together.
Mother doesn’t want her daughter to settle abroad. Although it was very clear between my friend & his wife they will try to find jobs outside India, even before marriage,since they knew each other of like 12 years.

UFor people reading this thread : Never marry into a powerful family unless u have some backing urself. You wouldn’t believe the kind of stuff I have seen babu netas do to ordinary citizens because their child married them against their will.

RIsn’t SC st harassment much more powerful
Like I heard somewhere a lady was going to file false sexual harassment on a guy, the guy told hi friend, he was SC st, he went to the woman, said take the case back or I’ll file a SC st harrasement case, she took the case back

USince wife’s family have filed case first they need to clear themselves, then only something can be done.
Also they a very High ranking Police officer in the family, my friends family dear more retaliation if they file SC -ST act case.
Although SC-ST act case will be true in this case , they have been harrassed severely.

SHow are people so delusional. Can’t believe your friends wife would do this. Is she and her whole family stupid? Or they think your friends family is dumb that they would not fuck them in the ass. Is the officer even real?

UFriends wife’s mother was interfering too much into their lives, she was skeptic that how will her daughter live into a lower caste house hold.
She used to get every detail of each day from her daughter.
It always irked them that my friend didn’t act or live according to them.
His MIL always talked about his culture , behaviour and how he needs to schooled and improved. But his family is too modest and no backing. They have built themselves from scratch after their father’s death at early age.
