I am a 19-year-old male seeking guidance on rectifying a discrepancy in my legal documents. Currently, I possess an Aadhaar card and an Election Card. However, my goal of obtaining a PAN card, driving license, and passport is hindered by a spelling error in my surname on my Aadhaar card.
Efforts to amend this error at local e-seva Kendras and banks have proven unsuccessful, as they require my birth certificate as proof. Unfortunately, my birth certificate reflects a completely different name, one that is absent from all other identification documents.
A suggestion was made to create a legal affidavit affirming that both names pertain to the same individual. This affidavit would then be submitted to the Gram Panchayat of my birthplace to obtain a revised birth certificate with the correct English spelling. However, the Gram Panchayat mandates the signature of our town’s Tahsildar. Upon consulting with legal professionals, I was informed that obtaining the Tahsildar’s signature is no longer possible due to the closure or obsolescence of the relevant department.
Given these circumstances, I would greatly appreciate guidance on how to proceed.

NAL. Get the name changed legally on the gazette. Get it printed in newspapers (passport requires you to do so). You can get the name changed in every other legal document with this.
